How much do you tip a hairdresser/barber?

Heck my hairdresser went from charging 25 to 55 in less than two years, for a 15 minute haircut and so now i dont tip her at all. She pockets all the money herself. How much do you tip a hairdresser/barber?
I usually give her $10-$15. If your hairdresser is someone you're going to establish a relationship with and see often, it's worth to pay her (or him) well - that way she knows you appreciate her and will really make an effort make you look great instead of just getting you in and out.

I think it helps if you think about it from her side...if she's renting a booth at a salon, she has to pay the salon fees for her customers, and sometimes tips are the only way she can get by. If she's on her own, then she's not paying an overhead to the shop owner, but there's more risk involved. How much do you tip a hairdresser/barber?
You should always tip pretty much the same you as would in a restaurant... AT LEAST 15%. It's definitely not just any amount.... it's a percentage of your total bill. Then generally do not make good money. They rely on decent tips.
The same way as you tip a waitress, usually 10-15%, depending on the service.
Good question, because how do you know if they are working for an owner or if they are there renting their space and working for themselves.
give them a few bucks before you leave i do it all the time
2 dollars for a hair cut and 3 dollars for a perm.
Not a lot. I'll get a 12$ haircut and give them a dollar or two.
i usually tip like 25%
5 dollars they make good money for what they do.
%15 of the total cost.
$5
Around 15% is fair.
none my Granma's a pro so we get it done for free.
