i think the fact that eli has been younger, in brother's shadow. well the older bro was sent home. eli knew this as his game was beginning. i think it cleared the way, allowing eli to make a statement.
To some point, yes. Tiki was the focal point of their offense, and a security blanket of sorts for Eli. When the opposing defense shut down Tiki, Eli had no answers. However, to a much bigger degree, I think it was Eli finally maturing as a QB that has allowed the Giants to advance this far.
I'm not sure what his contract status is at this point, but I'd give Coughlin another year to see if the Giants progess continues.

No, I don't think Coughlin deserves an extension. His team always underachieves. Now if they make it further he should possibly be extended.
Tiki was certainly an excellent RB but I believe that the Giants are much more of a ';team'; without him. They played together in ways they never did with him on the roster. With him gone, the team bought into Coughlin's philosophy and to the coach's credit, he changed a bit as well.
I am not much of a fan of his as a commentator either. I think his arrogance is apparent when he speaks.
